Assertive Community Treatment Teams
Renfrew County ACTT provides a client-centered, recovery-oriented mental health service that supports community living, psychosocial rehabilitation, and recovery for persons who have the most serious mental illnesses, have severe symptoms and impairments, and have not benefited from traditional outpatient services. ACTT (Assertive Community Treatment Team) provides a very intense service providing multiple contacts to a client if needed. The team offers a much tailored service to clients with the emphasis being on relationship building. Since the ACT Team philosophy focuses on recovery, best practice requires at least one peer specialist on the team. Model of service is recovery. ACTT services are delivered in an ongoing, rather than limited framework.
All referrals to the Renfrew County ACTT program are directed through a central intake. A physician's referral is not required, anyone can refer either self-referral or with the referred person's knowledge and consent.
