Program Description

The Release from Custody Program is an outreach service offered by the Jean Tweed Centre. This program provides support to incarcerated women through a women-centered approach focused on individual strengths and goals. This program provides access to support and connection to community resources upon release to assist incarcerated women with transition back into their community.

We are available at local correctional facilities (e.g. Vanier Centre for Women) and in the community to meet with women who may be eligible for this service and who are in need of assistance in developing a release plan and support as they transition back into the community.

This program is for women while they are incarcerated.

The program offers support in the following areas:
- Trauma-informed case management related to substance use, mental health, and other related concerns.
- Discharge planning services
- Referrals to a wide range of community resources
