Addictions Withdrawal Management

Program Description

This program provides support to individuals in withdrawal from alcohol and drugs. It allows clients to withdraw in a safe environment in their own community as deemed appropriate. Referrals to either Residential Withdrawal Management or hospital are made as appropriate. Clients will be contacted daily by the withdrawal management staff person to have their withdrawal symptoms monitored and receive support for issues that may arise. Services will be provided primarily through the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN).

Access Information

The program can be accessed during business hours, Monday to Friday. In order to access/participate in the program, the client must have a safe environment, access to a phone, be able to access 24-hour medical care, and requires a supportive person to assist. Client appropriateness is determined through a screening process when they contact the centre. The standardized withdrawal management monitoring criteria and tools are utilized.
