Program Description

Supports individuals' transition from custody through probation/parole and the courts to the mental health community. Recognizes that some individuals who face criminal charges would be better served by the mental health system than the criminal justice system. Individuals are diverted out of the regular stream of the criminal justice system by virtue of their voluntary participation in the program.

Access Information

Anyone can make a referral: the individual who has been charged, family or friends, police, crown attorney, defense and duty counsel, judge, service providers, community organizations, etc. Referrals can be made by phone or in person.
