Counselling and Treatment - Mental Health
Telemedicine provides access to health care for the residents of Peterborough City and County who would otherwise be unable to attend a clinical appointment based on location and need for travel. Through telemedicine, patients are connected to health care providers/specialists using a two-way videoconferencing system, along with the latest tele-diagnostic instruments (i.e. digital stethoscopes and patient examination cameras).
A Registered Practical Nurse is on staff to provide support during the telemedicine appointment.
All patients must be referred to telemedicine clinical services by a primary health care provider (Family Physician, Nurse Practitioner).
