Residential Medical Withdrawal Management Inpatient Short-Term
The Assessment and Stabilization Unit is a 12 bed short stay inpatient unit located on the 2nd floor of the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre where clients with a substance problem are admitted for assessment, medically supervised detoxification and stabilization. This program is suitable for clients with severe alcohol use disorders who require a medically supervised detox or for clients who have been unable to stabilize on opioid agonist therapy (methadone, buprenorphine/naloxone) in the community.
Referral through Service Access to Recovery (SAR), or through AccessMHA online referral website. Referrals sent to the Substance Use Concurrent Disorders (SUCD) program where individuals are assessed and referred to appropriate program either within SUCD or within the community. Referrals related to alcohol or opioid use also accepted through the Royal Ottawa Health Group Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinic.
