Counselling and Treatment - Substance Use

Program Description

Support with pre-employment techniques, budgeting, time management, social skills, and Relapse Prevention is provided. Aftercare is a one-on-one counselling process consisting of the following phases; assessment, motivational interviewing, individualized treatment plan, initiation of change, and maintenance of change. Within these areas, the following components are addressed; risk identification, risk management, self-monitoring, relapse prevention planning, and relapse management.

Access Information

For individuals who are male and have been convicted of a federal offence only. The Maison Decision House Aftercare Program is offered primarily to persons who have successfully completed the Maison Decision House Residential Treatment program. Individuals who have completed a residential treatment program elsewhere are eligible. The Aftercare Program is also offered to individuals who are on parole who require substance use intervention. Individuals are assessed in-house and evaluated at the Community Assessment Team meeting at the Ottawa Parole.
