Addictions Treatment - Substance Abuse

Program Description

The approach of this project is to provide pregnant and parenting women with client-centered, non-judgmental counselling based on the Stages of Change and Motivational Interviewing. The purpose is to provide the women with most appropriate, least intrusive intervention including Harm Reduction. It is understood that parenting and pregnant women face a number of barriers, such as childcare and transportation, to access and remain in treatment. To help reduce these barriers, practical supports can be provided to women to enhance their ability to receive services.
