COMPASS supports youth whose histories of serious psychiatric and /or emotional challenges have interfered with their ability to function within mainstream educational settings.

The treatment program provides intensive out-of-home service to youth who are experiencing emotional, social and behavioural difficulties as well as other mental health concerns, which are of an intensity and frequency that a less intrusive level is believed to not be of sufficient benefit to the youth and family at that time.

Respite service is available to youth with a dual diagnosis residing in their homes whose families require additional support to maintain the youth within the family home. This respite service is structured to be planned, regular, and consistent. The level, frequency and intensity of the service is matched as best as possible to the family need and based on current circumstances.

The Guiding Partners and Solutions - Complex Needs program addresses the needs of children and youth with complex needs, including those with a dual diagnosis (a developmental disorder and mental health diagnosis).

This program offers a variety of mental health groups for parents and children.

Provides a variety of services to help youth and families with mental health issues, behavioural challenges, or other complex needs, including those with a dual diagnosis, to function more effectively in their homes or foster homes, schools and communities. This includes, but is not exclusive to, families who may have a child or youth who is at risk of an out-of-home placement.

Provides treatment interventions for students of the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board and the Hamilton Wentworth Catholic District School Board. The mental health services can be provided in homes, community and schools, and may consist of individual therapy, family therapy and/or groups.

The COMPASS Elementary School Program provides support to children whose histories of serious emotional, social, mental health and/or behavioural challenges have significantly interfered with their ability to function at school.

The Lynwood Hall Intensive Out-of-Home Program is available to children experiencing emotional, social and behaviour difficulties, which are of such an intensity that intervention at a less intrusive level may not be of sufficient benefit to the child and their family.

Assistance for families of children and youth who have complex and chronic mental health needs and who have previously accessed intensive mental health services including in-home and in-school support, out of home placement and day treatment programs. The service components include system navigation, treatment goal maintenance, family wellness, and sustainability/post-discharge service.

Access and System Navigation (ASN) is the single point of access for child and youth mental health services in the Hamilton area.

The purpose of this program is to provide a service to youth who require a period of stabilization/assessment/support to integrate into or back to less intensive services. This may include youth who have been in a more intensive setting (e.g. hospital) and need a brief interim step before returning to a community setting/home (Step Down) and/or youth whose current mental health needs require a short-term intensive service, but do not meet the threshold for the most intensive services (i.e. hospital or other secure setting) (Step Up). Service components include individual, group and parenting skill development counselling, life skills training, recreational programming, community school support and liaison activities and transitional follow-up. Onsite section 23 school also available.
