Violence Against Women

Type of Service

Abuse Services

Program Description

This program serves women who are in an abusive relationship, or who have been in an abusive relationship. Psycho-educational groups are provided based on the theoretical principles of feminist counselling. Our philosophy is to support all women in the choices they make about staying or leaving their relationships. Women receive counselling, support and education focusing on learning what is a healthy relationship; what abuse is and how it affects the mind, body and spirit; patterns in relationships and abuse; developing safety plans, the impact of family violence on children, and making choices for the future.

Groups are scheduled mornings, afternoons and evenings to accommodate all women.
