Mental Health Awareness

Program Description

Provides education, information and community development services to enhance mental health knowledge and resources in Grey-Bruce and promote effective communication and coordination amongst system stakeholders. Operates a resource library, offers presentations and workshops, hosts a system website, produces newsletters, brochures and educational resources regarding mental health issues and resources. (Note: this program does not have a specific client capacity, nor is it targeted to people on the basis of their diagnostic profile).

Access Information

The program responds to telephone, email and walk-in requests for information about mental health issues and resources. It offers educational presentations on mental health topics in communities throughout Grey Bruce. These are advertised in local newspapers and participants are asked to register for them by calling the program office in Owen Sound. There is no charge for most educational events for the public or for use of the program's resource library. Program services are offered Monday to Friday during core office hours 0830 to 1630 and extended hours are offered from time to time, depending on program resources.
