Day/Night Care Mental Health - General

Program Description

Provides intensive day hospital treatment, including psycho-education, medication support, coping strategies, and case management for adults with anxiety and depression illnesses whose illness has stabilized such that the person can avail themselves of focused treatment. Goal is to avoid inpatient hospitalization or as a step-down to promote early return to the community. Referrals come from Halton Healthcare Services Schedule 1 Mental Health Adult Inpatient Unit and from referrals from family physicians. Model of service is group therapy, psychoeducation, and individual counselling and support. Available in two streams, age 18-35 and 35+.
