COAST Program - Crisis Outreach and Support Team

Crisis Intervention

Program Description

Telephone support and mobile intervention for individuals who have mental health concerns and are in crisis. A crisis intervention worker will respond to calls on the crisis line and complete an intake assessment regarding the mental health concern. The COAST mobile team, consisting of a crisis intervention worker and a specially trained, plain-clothed police officer will respond to the residence, work place or any safe location in Halton to complete a risk assessment and mental status exam.

Access Information

Anyone can call the crisis line 24 hours a day, 7 days per week to request assistance for self or others. COAST can provide service to persons 16 years of age or older in the Region of Halton.
