Program Description

The purpose of this program is provide urgent consultation for mental health services for children and youth up to the age of 18 from all areas of the North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN. This includes assessments, individual and group treatment sessions and family work. Interprofessional care is provided by a team that includes: child and youth psychiatrist, child and youth psychologist, social worker, intake social worker and registered nurse.

Access Information

Access to this program is obtained through referrals that are sent to the Acute Outpatient Services from RVH’s ED and psychiatrists, community pediatricians, and EDs throughout our North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN. Once these referrals are received, the intake social worker will review each referral and connect with families and youth to complete an intake screening, prioritize needs and book patient for further treatment in the CYMH Acute Outpatient Services. Intake meetings with the team occur every Thursday, where new referrals are reviewed by the team and care is collaboratively assigned to the most appropriate professional.
