Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinic

Type of Service

Addictions Withdrawal Management

Program Description

RAAM clinics are drop-in clinics for people looking for help with their problematic substance use such as alcohol, pot, cocaine or opioids. You don’t need an appointment to attend this clinic – just show up during clinic hours with your Ontario Health Card.

The clinic team has experience treating individuals struggling with substance use. They will:
Assess your situation in order to determine how to help you;
Provide you with a diagnosis and develop an appropriate treatment plan;
Offer advice on how to make choices that will minimize the risks of intoxication;
Refer you to community services such as counselling programs as part of your treatment;
Discuss all options, including the use of safe, effective and non-addictive medication that will help to lessen cravings, as well as withdrawal symptoms.

Bring Support
If you’re feeling anxious or hesitant about going to a RAAM clinic, consider bringing a supportive person with you. Changing your substance use can be very difficult, and having someone with you while you speak to the team may make you feel less overwhelmed and less alone.
