Inpatient
This program is for a diverse population of individuals, carrying a wide set of diagnoses. Individuals supoprted in this program may be struggling with coping, frequently in crisis, or may struggle to achieve their goals due to a lack of structure and purpose in their daily lives.
Following a comprehensive assessment, a care plan is customized according to the individual's treatment goals and tolerance level. The care plan emphasizes a combination of group psychotherapy, education and skill-building sessions, recreational activities, along with occasional one-to-one sessions. Medical treatments, including medications and electroconvulsive therapy may be offered.
Referral by health care worker required.
Target population: long term mental illness, experiencing ongoing, chronic psychiatric signs and symptoms with or without co-occurring addiction concerns that require inpatient hospitalization.
Exclusion criteria:
- individuals unable to maintain safety of self or others (treatment occurs on an open unit)
- individuals with a primary diagnosis of obsessive compulsive disorder, personality disorder, acquired brain injury, and chronic pain
- individuals who are unwilling to provide supervised urine samples for alcohol and drug screen if deemed appropriate by the treatment team.
