Residential Withdrawal Management Centres

Program Description

Non-medical, crisis intervention and residential service providing physical care for the adult male in an acute state of intoxication or withdrawal from alcohol and other addictive substances. Staff responds to the behavioural patterns of the substance abuse where the client symptoms can be safely monitored. Identify and respond to any immediate need for medical/mental health assessment.

There are other forms of assessment, beyond the MOHLTC-approved standardized assessment tools, required to access this program. Intake assessment at time of entry. Referrals are made through Central Access Toronto Withdrawal Management Central Access. Direct referrals from the hospital are also accepted.
