Diversion and Court Support

Program Description

Court support is available to individuals with mental illness and/or: concurrent illness (addictions and mental illness), ABI, TBI, ASD, FASD, dual diagnosis, Alzheimer’s, dementia. Services offered: Practical and emotional support to clients and families navigating the court system. Assistance with bail/release plans, Guidance and support with filling out a Form 2. Screening and support for Community Treatment Court (CTC), which is a quasi-diversion process approved by the head Crown. CTC requires regular court appearances by the client, as well as documentation on diagnoses and treatment progress.

Access Information

Referrals are welcomed from all. The person needs to have a serious mental illness or be diagnosable. Interested clients may visit our office in the Newmarket or Bradford courthouses, or contact us by telephone. Telephone interpretation service available for all inquiries in more than 170 languages.
