Addictions Treatment - Substance Abuse

Program Description

The treatment philosophy will employ both harm reduction and abstinence strategies, determined by client need. The treatment modality will primarily be cognitive-behavioural. Participation in community self-help options will be encouraged but not mandatory. Case management involves coordinating all services received by clients, reviewing and revising treatment plans at regular intervals, aftercare and follow-up. Staff has also been certified in the Level 3 - Triple P program (Positive Parenting Program) as well as the Stepping Stone program for families with a child who has a disability. Naloxone kits and training may be available for current clients.

Access Information

This program serves women and their children. Women may bring children to sessions if need be. Clients may access the service by self-referral or by referral from other professionals, family members, etc. Some clients are assessed at other local addiction treatment programs. There are no other forms of assessment required beyond the MOHLTC-approved standardized assessment tools.
