Intensive/Day Treatment - Mental Health

Program Description

This service combines both therapeutic treatment and academic programming.

The program offers milieu, individual and group therapy, family support/education, academic and physical education credits, life skills development, follow-up, consultation to significant supports in the community, system integration activities (Example: school, public health), and psychiatric assessment consultation if appropriate.

Access Information

Access is through the hospital's child and adolescent centralized intake which receives and reviews all referrals and recommends appropriate disposition either to a Grand River Hospital service or to a community service.

Participation requires: willingness to participate in all program activities; parental involvement as appropriate; ability to attend a day program daily; willingness/ability to participate at time of referral (rather than in several months).
