Program Description

Bellwood provides residential treatment for alcohol, drug, and gambling, sexual addictions, and PTSD/OSI and addiction. Treatment for eating disorders is available through a partnership with WaterStone Clinic. The treatment programs are delivered by a multidisciplinary team which includes: physicians and a consulting psychiatrist with specializations in addiction medicine; clinical psychologists; registered nurses, registered practical nurses and a psychiatric nurse; Master's trained therapists, addiction counsellors with advanced addiction training; Certified Sex Addiction Therapists (CSAT); therapists with specialized training in post-traumatic stress disorder, problem gambling and eating disorders; nutritionists; physical health instructors. Bellwood uses a total health approach to restore the client's physical, psychological, social and spiritual well-being. The client participates in a structured program of education, therapy and physical healing. A primary care physician, therapist and recovery counsellor track the client's progress through treatment. Through a rich variety of interactive educational and counselling sessions, clients learn skills, attitudes, and rewarding activities that effectively replace their addictive behaviours. Specialized programming is available for healthcare professionals. An addiction and PTSD/OSI program is available for members of the military and first responders. Programs are available on a fee-for-service basis and program lengths range from 6 to 11 weeks.
