Program Description

This First Episode Psychosis Program, called On Track, is a satellite of The Ottawa Hospital Program. On Track provides early intervention and treatment for psychosis. The goal of treatment is remission of symptoms and community re-integration, using effective medications as well as other interventions to promote recovery and prevent relapse. The On Track program has a multidisciplinary staff (via the host agency) consisting of Nurses and Social Workers (known as Primary Clinicians), Psychologists and Psychiatrists. The On Track program is linked with many community partners who can support recovery.

Access Information

Anyone can refer to this program, and the referral form can be printed off from the Cornwall Hospital website or from The Ottawa Hospital website and faxed to the Ottawa On Track site. The Ottawa On Track site will forward to the Cornwall On Track team any clients located within the SD&G catchment for clients to be followed up by for an intake assessment by the Cornwall team. The program helps people age 16-35 who may be having early symptoms or signs of psychosis, are experiencing their first psychotic episode and have a psychotic illness that has not been treated for more than six months. The program covers a maximum three-year period of treatment.
