Program Description

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Waterloo Wellington provides Children and Youth Services out of the Kitchener and Cambridge Centres for Mental Health. The "FRIENDS" program matches adult volunteer mentors with a child between the ages of four and 15 through weekly visits in the school setting. "Healthy Start" involves grade one children within the classroom setting, teaching social skills development and building resilience. Model of service is health promotion, early intervention, and client-centered.
