Program Description

Specialized Diagnostic Assessment measures the severity of the eating disorder diagnosis. It consists of a structured interview based on the DSM-V criteria for eating disorders, followed by the administration of eight psychometric tests that measure related psychopathology (i.e., depression, anxiety, alexithymia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, attachment style, and family functioning). The Specialized Diagnostic Assessment is administered before and after each treatment. The Specialized Diagnostic Assessment is the first step and required prior to admission to treatment.

BANA offers referrals to adult inpatient programs. Initial consultations can be arranged by contacting the clinical intake specialist at BANA. Coordinating referrals to the Ontario Community Outreach Program for Eating Disorders (OCOPED).
