Program Description

Three month residential program for males ages 13 to 17. Academic programming provided on-site. Model of services is client-centred and based on evidence-based practices. Modalities including individual, group and family counselling. Comprehensive approach targets important life domains and issues, including: mental health, trauma, relationships, physical health and nutrition, and work/academics. Pre-admission tours may be available for youth in the Ottawa area. At day 45 of treatment, residents go on a home visit for 5 days. When the resident returns a collaborative discussions occur to determine length of stay.

Access Information

Completed application package is required for referral. Referrals are included from all sources (including self). Telephone screening interview will be completed at the point of application and applications can be submitted online through the DSYTC website or by calling. For safety reasons, youth under 16 must have a parent/guardian/caregiver who resides within a two hour drive from the centre in order to be considered for admission. Parents/caregivers must agree to pick up their child in the event of an unplanned discharge.
